Welcome!!
The following activities are offered on a regular basis (October-April) during normal business hours. Activities/demos are dependent on volunteer/staff availability and weather. Feel free to call ahead to check availability 520-622-0594.
Included in regular admission or free with a membership.

Historical Demonstrations
11 am-1 pm Tuesdays
A historical interpreter will be present to demonstrate a variety of activities that may include:
*Calligraphy
*Early way-finding
*The Columbian
Exchange
*Medicine of the 18th and 19th centuries Tucson

Ask an Archaeologist
11 am-1 pm Select Wednesdays
Discover how archaeologists and historians learn about the history of southern Arizona.
Ask your archaeology/history related questions to local archaeologists while watching demonstrations (ex: flintknapping, tree ring dating, making natural dye, etc…). Don’t forget to visit the Early People’s Park Display before you leave!

Costumed Interpreter

Join us on the following Fridays to learn about the life of a Mexican soldier and the history of Mexican Tucson. On the last scheduled day of each month our interpreter will focus on a specific topic.
January: 2nd, 26th, and 30th (1782 “2nd” Battle of Tucson)
February: 13th and 27th (The life of Petra and Atanacia Santa Cruz)
March: 13th and 20th (The Importance of the Apache to Tucson History)
April: 3rd and 17th (Place name origins)
