These activities are offered on a regular basis October-April during normal business hours, Activities/demos are dependent on volunteer/staff availability, as well as weather. Please feel free to call ahead to confirm availability at 520-526-2335.

Docent Tours

Enjoy a docent-led tour of the museum. You will learn what life was like in the area prior to European contact as well as when Fort Lowell was active, 1873-1891. You may hear stories about soldiers, their families, civilians, and the local indigenous people.

Kids Activity Hour

Special Summer Hours! 9:00am-10:00 am, on June 18, July 2, July 16, August 6, and August 20.

A member of our Education Department may read a short story followed by a themed hands-on activity, lead your child in a craft, or a kid friendly science/history activity. This is perfect for children 4-7 years old but is open to children of all ages.


The museum has a toy box as well as coloring sheets, crayons, and paper for drawing.

Coffee With…

11:00 am-12:00 pm., on the first Saturday of each month join us for coffee and a casual conversation with an expert in their topic.
