Rumors persist that some of the money from the Wham payroll robbery is hidden somewhere in Fort Lowell Park. Use the clues to try to locate the money that has been missing since 1889!

Wham Payroll Robbery
On May 11, 1889, Major Joseph W. Wham and an escort of eleven Buffalo Soldiers were transporting a payroll of $28,000 ($1,016,272 in 2026) in gold and silver coins from Fort Grant to Fort Thomas. The party was ambushed by a group of bandits, who, after over an hour of fighting, made off with the payroll. The money was never recovered.
