During the Adventure Hour, an education specialist will guide children through a tour of the Presidio Museum designed just for them. In addition, the program will include a demonstration of where cochineal comes from, (the red-dye that was an important trade commodity for early settlers) and a story. The Hour will also include a "daily life" hands-on activity, which could include: pot gardening, laundry the "old fashioned way,” making clay bead bracelets, making wool bracelets, tortilla making, or colonial-period games. The children will then enjoy a coloring activity to encourage participants to express what they have just learned. $5 for adults, $1 for children ages 6-8, and free for members of all ages and children ages 4-5.
