Meet at the Presidio at 8 a.m., departure 8:15 am. Led by archeologist Homer Thiel and historian National Park Ranger Rick Collins. We will carpool from Tucson and drive to Tumacacori to tour the three units of Tumacacori National Historical Park.  Each unit of the Park preserves Spanish era chapels and other features.  We will start at Tumacacori and then drive to Calabazas Mission and visit the remnants of the chapel.  Lastly, we will travel to Guevavi Mission and learn about its history and archaeology.  We will have a box lunch at that site before returning to Tucson. 

Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for walking and some steep hills!  Return to Tucson late afternoon. Price includes a boxed lunch.
