Join us for this ethnobotanical micro-course with Presidio Garden & Program Specialist, Alex La Pierre on how the plants of the Tucson Presidio can help inform us and serve as interpretative tools for understanding both the agricultural and gastronomic heritages of the region. We’ll look at how the Sonoran Desert environment and geography shaped these legacies and how both the Amerind and Iberian agricultural traditions came together to form the basis of regional Sonoran cuisine.
