The story of Tucson’s founding and the development of the Spanish settlements of California are entwined. To better understand this relationship, we’ll explore this connection and others on this heritage itinerary by getting to know the missions and presidios of southern California up close and in person. Following El Camino Real and the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail, the distinct missions of the Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and San Diego areas are the focus of the trip as well as two of the four California presidios. The geographically broad panorama of history offered by this tour will allow us to consider the perspectives of the indigenous peoples, the religious, the military, and this heritage’s contemporary interpretation.

CANCELLATION POLICY

For trip cancellation, please contact us as quickly as possible. Cancellations that arise prior to June 13, 2022 will be subject to a $100 (per person) cancellation fee.

There are many factors to consider when planning a trip right now and situations around the world
are changing almost every day, we therefore strongly encourage travel insurance. Please visit their website to review policies that are available at www.allianztravelinsurance.com. Should you sign up with them, please use South of the Border’s ACCAM number which will be required. The number is F029755.
