This family friendly event celebrates 4000+ years of indigenous culture in Tucson through art, food, and performances.
Event Schedule:
10:05 am Welcome with Blessing
10:30 am Presentation: The Significance of the Deer Dance to the Yaqui (Yoeme) People with Brandon Varela, Director of the Old Pascua Museum and Yaqui Culture Center.
12:00 pm Yaqui (Yoeme) Deer Dance
2:15 pm Yaqui (Yoeme) Coyote Dance
Demonstrations/vendors:
Flintknapping, pottery, silversmithing, gourd making, basket making, flintknapping, and much more!
Food:
Sherri's Frybread with sweet and savory toppings.
Included in regular admission or free with a membership.
Parking: Please note that street meter parking is no longer free on Saturdays, and there is a two-hour restriction. Two blocks north of the museum, across from El Charro Restaraunt, is a parking lot; you need a smart phone to pay. South of the Presidio, the El Presidio Parking Garage, is open on Saturdays 9am to 6pm (Vehicle entrance closes at 4pm.)
