Family Adventure Hour

10:30 am, Fourth Saturday of the Month

 

At the Presidio, we believe that "living history" is the most entertaining and most impactful form of education for our young visitors- especially for the youngest.

Family Adventure Hour is geared to children ages 4 – 8.  It starts with an age-appropriate tour of the Presidio grounds to look at the archaic era pit house, the Presidio barracks and original foundation wall, the millstone and the mural.  This is followed by an interactive activity that incorporates a lesson about Tucson’s history and culture (such as cow roping, clay crafts, cochineal, gardening or period games).  Each of these activities is led by a volunteer docent.  The program concludes with a story and a coloring activity that encourages children to express what they have learned.  This program is held on the fourth Saturday of the

 

 

Cost:

Cost is included with admission.  

$5 for accompanying adults.

Children 6-14: $1

Children 5 and under: Free

We encourage you to buy a Family Membership for $40 and attend Children's Adventure Hour repeatedly.
