Public Altar for Supervisor Richard Elias
Open Through November 8
10 am – 4 pm
Richard Elías served Pima County as a supervisor for 18 years. His sudden passing on March 28th, 2020, at the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis was a shock for many. Due to Covid-19 a public memorial event was not held. Supervisor Elias was a fifth-generation Tucsonan, a direct descendant of Tucson Presidio settlers and a member of a family that included many local leaders and luminaries. In lieu of a memorial event, members of the community, friends and family are invited to bring mementos to leave on a temporary alter displayed at the Presidio Museum. See KVOA story here.
