Mexican Independence Day Celebration
Saturday, September 16, 4:30-8 pm
After Mexico gained independence from Spain in September of 1821, the Presidio San Agustín del Tucson was under Mexican rule for 33 years. Join us for our Mexican Independence Day event, a celebration of Mexico’s history and culture and its lasting impact on the city of Tucson. The event will feature mariachi music and Ballet Folklorico performances along with the delivery of El Grito, the cry that sparked the revolution.
