After Mexico gained independence from Spain in September of 1821, the Presidio San Agustín del Tucson was under Mexican rule for 33 years. Our Mexican Independence Day celebration includes:
**Re-enactors dressed as Mexican soldiers
**4:30 pm: Tucson Under the Mexican Republic” Lecture
**5:15 pm: Carlos Otero Lopez, Attache of the Mexican Consulate, presenting El Grito
**5:30 pm: Mariachi Pumas de Roskruge
**6:30 pm: Folklorico Performance by Danzacultura Mexicana
**Mexican Patio (new!) with bricks engraved with donor names will be available for all to enjoy
**Presidio Cantina offering alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
