FREE this month as part of Fort Lowell Day!

Did you know that people have been mining in Southern Arizona for hundreds of years? Well, they have! Indigenous people have mined for things such as turquoise and clay while the later Spanish mined for gold and silver. Learn about the history of mining and assaying in the Tucson area while panning for “precious metals.”

This event is part of the activities being held during Fort Lowell Day.
